Privacy Policy

Privacy summary: iStorage is designed to analyze photos and contacts on your device. We do not operate advertising, analytics, photo-processing, contact-processing, or email-processing servers for the app.

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how iStorage handles information when you use the iStorage iPhone application and this support website. “iStorage,” “we,” and “us” refer to the app developer.

2. Photo library

If you grant permission, iStorage accesses your photo library through Apple PhotoKit to identify items such as duplicates, similar photos, screenshots, blurry photos, Live Photos, and large videos. Image comparison and quality analysis are performed on your device. Your photos and videos are not uploaded to an iStorage server.

iStorage only requests deletion after you choose items and confirm the system prompt. Deleted media is handled by Apple’s Recently Deleted feature according to iOS behavior.

3. Contacts

If you choose the Contacts Cleaner and grant permission, iStorage reads contacts on your device to identify possible duplicates or incomplete records. Contact analysis is performed locally. Changes occur only after your action and are written through Apple’s Contacts framework. We do not upload your address book to an iStorage server.

4. Gmail and email features

If Gmail features are available and you connect an account, authentication occurs through Google OAuth. iStorage does not receive or store your Google password. OAuth credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. The app communicates directly with Google APIs to show categories and perform actions you request.

We do not operate an email-processing server and do not retain copies of your messages. Google processes information under its own privacy policy and account settings. You may revoke iStorage access from your Google Account at any time.

5. Purchases

Subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. We receive entitlement status needed to unlock features, but we do not receive your full payment-card details. Apple handles purchase information under its privacy policy.

6. Device storage information

iStorage may read device capacity and available-space values to display storage information and estimate cleanup results. These values remain in the app and are not sent to an iStorage server.

7. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

iStorage does not include third-party advertising and is not designed to track you across apps or websites. We do not sell personal information. If future versions add analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or server features, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before those changes are released.

8. Permissions and your choices

You can change Photos and Contacts permissions in iOS Settings. You can disconnect Gmail within the app when available and revoke access from your Google Account. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Removing the app deletes its local app container, subject to Apple’s platform behavior and information maintained independently by Apple or Google.

9. Support website

This site is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs under GitHub’s privacy terms. If you voluntarily submit a support request through GitHub Issues, the information you post may be public. Never include photos, passwords, authentication tokens, private email content, or other sensitive information.

10. Children

iStorage is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children for the purpose of collecting personal information. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through an iStorage server.

11. Security

We minimize information handling, use Apple system permissions, store OAuth credentials in the iOS Keychain, and use encrypted HTTPS connections for supported third-party APIs. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection.

12. Changes

We may update this policy when features or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes will be reflected here and, where required, in the app or App Store listing.

13. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, open a support request using our support form. Do not include sensitive personal content.
